On February 11, the quoted price of high-carbon ferrochrome in Inner Mongolia was 7,400-7,600 yuan/mt (50% metal content), up by 100 yuan/mt (50% metal content) compared to the previous trading day. Yesterday, major overseas mines announced a new round of futures prices for South African 40-42% chrome concentrates, rising by $27/mt to $230/mt. The spot price of chrome ore was further driven higher, and with ferrochrome retail supply already tight, prices followed the upward trend due to rising costs.
